Commentary
The Devil paints enticing images upon his "canvas"-- a young man's heart. The image of the naked woman symbolizes worldly love (eros), the crowns and the cardinal's hat symolize power in the secular and religous spheres, and the bag of money symbolizes wealth. Satan's art has already worked its magic upon the young man, who gazes intently at the painting as a beautiful naked woman begins to disrobe him.
